ActivitiesThese are just a taster of the activities that Newquay has to offer. For a full list and the ability to book online, chack out our Ativity Booking Office website.
Surfing: A sport that hardly needs an introduction, but if you've never tried it you'll be amazed at how much fun you start having from the moment you take your first step into the ocean! Newquay will always be unrivalled as a surfing location because no other place has such a variety of waves on offer. It can be knee high and mellow at Towan Beach, waist high and fun and Tolcarne, head high and fast at Lusty Glaze and overhead and hollow at Fistral Beach - all on the same day. Kitesurfing: The sooner you learn to kitesurf the better. Nothing on earth will get you out on the water on more days than kitesurfing. Using the water relaunchable kite to tow you around, you can use either a surfboard for riding waves and long distance exploration, or a smaller wakeboard for tricks and big airs. The learning curve is very rapid and we know people who've had their first lesson one year and were entering their first competion the next. Powerkiting: Bit like kitesufing, but on land and you can do it on your own two feeet, on a big all terrain style skateboard or a three wheeled buggy. Like all kitesports, powerkiting is easy to learn and you'll be flying the kite in an hour or so and making your first runs on wheels (if you want!) by the end of the first day. Kiting is seriously addictive - you'll soon be looking out of your office window at moving clouds and rustling leaves... Mountain Biking: It goes without saying that mountain biking is the ultimate all weather acitvity and thanks to the industrial past of the tin mining era, the county has some fantastic terrain which is perfect for exploring on the bike. From dense woodland runs to stunning moorland vistas and technical switchback trails, it's all there. Join a group or bring your mates and we'll show you the way. |
